New lines of activity at Tarquinia Hospital for surgery, radiology and emergency’and
Surgical, radiology and emergency networks: important new lines of activity start at the hospital of
Tarquinia. This was discussed at a press conference attended by the general director of the Asl di
Viterbo, Daniela Donetti.
The meeting was set to illustrate the actions taken in order to create a strong and real link between the hospitals present in Tuscia and to ensure effective care of citizens’ health needs.
In Tarquinia, two new outpatient clinics have been activated (of senology and neurosurgery) and a third is being activated (of otolaryngology), as part of the overall ongoing enhancement of the surgical network in the various hospital presidia. Specifically, since Dec. 1, 2017, every first and third Thursday of the month, the outpatient breast clinic has been in operation in the spirit of extending the company’s offer of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. The service is run jointly by a breast surgeon from Viterbo and a surgeon from Tarquinia.
All women in need of clinical evaluation for suspected or established neoplastic breast disease, or in need of postoperative follow-ups, can access it.
New lines coming in February
In addition, since Jan. 12, for two Fridays a month, from 9 to 10 a.m., the outpatient
Neurosurgery as part of the pilot project for the implementation of the corporate care pathway for the
patients suffering from pathologies of the spinal column.
This project identifies a diagnostic and therapeutic pathway for taking care of patients with
lumbar, dorsal and cervical spine pain in which a multidisciplinary and multi
professional who includes, in addition to the figure of the neurosurgeon, those of the orthopedic surgeon, the physiatrist, the
pain physician, rheumatologist, anesthesiologist and rheumatology neurologist.
Soon to open, also in the coastal hospital, is the outpatient clinic of
otolaryngology. The service is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen the
network between Belcolle and other hospitals in the Viterbo area, in order to increase the supply of
health with regard to head and neck oncological diseases.
Radiology network
From Feb. 1, the experimental project of territorial diagnostic imaging comes into operation
aimed at users in need of integrated home care (ADI). The project consists of the
possibility of providing at home services and tools aimed at the non-ambulatory patient’s
Maintaining the highest level of well-being, health and function, through home diagnostics
radiology, as a valid alternative to the hospital service. The service will be provided in situations where
portable technology will be able to ensure satisfactory levels of diagnostic quality and safety
In cases where clinical conditions make home examination less burdensome than in
hospital.
Finally, the project, already
operating in Civita Castellana, simplifying routes and streamlining waiting lists that,
through a Cup station, allows physicians to make reservations directly on site
of specialist visits and urgent examinations for patients seen at the facility. The service produces
also a significant gain in time for users who no longer have to go to the traditional Cup for
request the prescribed service.
