Honey, the benefits by taking it every day
The honey is a food that both young and old enjoy: enjoyed on its own or in a warm infusion, it releases its unmistakable fragrance and sweet taste.
The benefits of honey on our bodies
It is not only for this reason that honey should be taken every day but also for its many benefits:
- counteracts the cell aging process due to its antioxidant properties (the darker the color of a honey, the more antioxidant properties it has against free radicals)
- because of its antibacterial properties, it succeeds in reducing the proliferation of about 60 different species of bacteria including Escherichia coli e Staphylococcus aureus
- promotes apoptosis (i.e., cell death), which is particularly important in the case of cancer cells that can lead to the development of tumors
- helps heal damaged tissues due to its anti-inflammatory properties (when used on wounds, it prevents infection and inflammation)
- It boosts the immune system and immune defenses
- gives more energy than ordinary sugar and in addition has a lower glycemic index, thus preferable for those with diabetes
- when used in a warm infusion (such as in chamomile tea or even warm milk), soothes coughs and sore throats
- Can be used against stomach infections (gastritis, ulcers, duodenitis) but also in the case of diarrhea
- protects the heart (because of its cardiotrophic property), liver and digestive system
- Has a diuretic action
- allows the assimilation of important nutrients such as calcium and magnesium
Take one teaspoon daily
For all these reasons, it is advisable to take one teaspoon a day of honey and substitute it, when possible, for ordinary sugar since, as seen, it has a lower glycemic index. It also contains 22% fewer calories per weight batch, so it also helps to maintain a healthy figure. Because of the way it is produced then, honey is also sustainable and does not impact the environment in a harmful way.
